After successful workshops in 2022 and 2023, Impact Week is coming back to the Philippines for a third edition. Together with the Hub of Innovation for Inclusion and the De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde, we are looking forward to creating impact.
The Philippines are a country with unique challenges. By addressing issues like socio-economic disparities, lack of inclusion, and disaster relief, we aim to make a real difference and help Filipinos tackle local problems effectively.
The unique spirit of Impact Week, with a mix of entrepreneurship and social innovation, coupled with intercultural exchange, is a memorable experience for all participants.
During the first week, we will train a new group of Junior Design Thinking Coaches, by taking them through a three-day "Train-the-Coach" phase. This will take place in the colorful space of the HiFi building.
In the practical phase in the second week, the newly trained Junior Coaches will directly apply their new Design Thinking skills while being guided by experienced Senior Coaches and helping students find innovative solutions for local challenges. This phase will take place at the De La Salle College of Saint-Benilde.
Upon completion of the program, you will be a trained Junior Design Thinking Coach, who has already applied the methodology and can become a multiplier of the methodology in your professional and private life. You'll gain key skills through Design Thinking, such as innovation, customer focus, and implementation orientation.
The intercultural experience at Impact Week will also help you gain different perspectives on problem solving as well as build your international network, which will be key to boosting your resourcefulness at work as well as creating avenues for future collaborations.
In addition, Impact Week promotes local entrepreneurship and social innovation and enables local universities to apply Design Thinking themselves and run their own Impact Weeks.
Each participating team will work on one focus area. The students can choose their focus area in the application process and get matched accordingly. Then it is up to them to own the challenge and create an innovative idea to tackle it – always keeping the Design Thinking methodology at heart.
*The challenges are still in the final planning stage with the local partners and track mentors and subject to confirmation.
The training is free for employees of non-profit companies and universities based in the Philippines.
For corporate participants, the participation fee for the Design Thinking training, including accommodation and meals, is €2,995.
The Impact Week Philippines is eligible for educational leave ("Bildungsurlaub") in Berlin and Hamburg.
Not included in the offer are travel costs to and from Manila, visa, vaccinations and recreational activities.
As a Junior Coach applicant, please fill out the following form to express your interest. We will then schedule a 30-minute conversation with you. After our conversation we will directly make our decision if you are joining us in Manila.
Applicants from the local partner should kindly contact Robin Serrano.
